Hello void,

A few updates for everyone:

  1. FREE ANIMALIA SAMPLE

C'mon, just try it. It's free...

Sample chapters are now available if you join my mailing list! If you sign up, you now get a link for a .epub version of the first 5 chapters of Animalia, plus the charter, prologue, and cast of characters. For free! (Which is great because I haven't figured out how to monetize these shenanigans yet. Despite the fact that my website builder has a giant button labeled "Monetize.")

  1. EASTER EGGS!

What a cute bunny. I'm sure all the bunnies in Animalia do great.

Easter Eggs! Animalia is LOADED with Easter eggs.

I think one could rightfully call Animalia a "collection of Easter Eggs linked by a 'plot.'" Most of these are Xennial references, and I wondered if they were too much. For example, there's pop culture (Chappell Roan), literary (the Raven), historical (George Washington's farewell address), classical (Aesop's fables), mythological (Cernunnos) references and more. My Reedsy editor and beta readers said they loved finding them. Honestly, there are so many references that I can't keep track of them all. If you find more, drop a comment. Maybe we can make a master list.

  2. No Kings 3! I am soft launching my book against tyranny by having a booth at my local No Kings Festival/Protest. I'm one of six vendors there. Of note, I'm not selling anything, just giving away bookmarks, business cards, stickers, and candy.

That's how they get ya.

Honestly, part of me is very nervous about putting my art out there. On the other hand, I read through my sample chapters yesterday and was like "This is really f'ing good."

I will wear my "Lift weights. Read books. Fight fascists." t-shirt, but if the weather is bad I ordered this Raccoon sweatshirt. I hope it shows up in time.

That's all for now!

Ciao.
